East Side Collector’s Townhouse
New York, NY | David Scott Parker Architects
David Scott Parker Architects designed this meticulously choreographed Townhouse so that the owners could admire while living amongst their stunning collection including many Tiffany glass sculptures. The lighting had to be carefully integrated and calibrated through dimming, to showcase the collection while also providing ambient light for dining, reading, and working. Backlighting of the Tiffany stained glass panels above the fireplace reveals the varied richness of the glass. Up and downlights in the custom glass shelf unit provide sparkle and color for each piece. Accent lights concealed in the stair stringer illuminate art and sculpture as one ascends. Bespoke decorative chandeliers and floor and table lamps add necessary layers of intimate light. Even the garage lighting was handled with care. Beautiful polished aluminum low voltage track lights backlight the frosted glass panels of the garage walls, providing a warm glow from the street, and comfortable, flexible lighting for vehicles and bikes.
