Marshall Family Performing Arts Center
Addison, TX | Weiss/Manfredi
At night, the diffuse interior light within the outward-facing public spaces provides a soft glow, further articulating the building volumes. Low-glare recessed point sources in the double-height lobby facilitate views to the outdoor courtyard. A soft wash of light on the stone walls of the expansive lobby helps render it as a cohesive element connecting the various performance venues within the building. The large proscenium theater features a grid of point sources for even illumination and task light, while discreet coves at the full-height walls provide visual interest and reinforce the dimensionality and scale.
